Scripture to Memorize
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
Titus 2;11-12
Lesson Overview
In Titus 2, the focus of this week’s lesson, Paul instructed Titus to emphasize the grace of God and it’s ability to transform the lives of believers. The apostle also stressed the following three truths. First, sound doctrine is basic to a godly life; second, the grace of God enables believers of all ages to mature in the faith; and third, having been saved by grace, Christians should avoid irreverent and worldly attitudes. Their goal is to do God’s will as they wait for Christ’s return.
Life Awareness
All of us know how easy it is to get in a rut. We go through the same routine day in and day out as we fulfill a multitude of responsibilities. We should not be shocked to discover that we also have ingrained sinful habits. No matter how hard we try, however, we cannot morally reform ourselves. We must rely on God’s grace, whic is made available through faith in Christ, to experience real and lasting spiritual transformation. We will learn this week that God’s grace, coupled with the teaching of His Word, should lead to godly conduct among all believers, regardless of their age, gender, or social status.
