Scripture Lesson Text: Revelation 22:12-21
In the book of Revelation 22, the focus is on the Lord’s return and the approaching judgement. “ And, behold, I come quickly.”( Revelation 22:7). The works of man will be judged, the good and the bad. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega and has created all things, and will finish all things. Those that do His commandments, will have the right to the tree of life, and will enter in through the gates into the city.
However, all of those who did not accept Christ will be outside of the city in eternal torment. Jesus sends His angel to give a message unto John, about these things in His churches. The last invitation to Christ goes out, and they are to take of the water of life freely. And if any man shall take away from the Words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book( Revelation 22: 17-19). Jesus assures everyone that He will certainly be returning soon.

Practical Points – By Doug Smith
1) When Jesus comes back, evil will be punished and good
Jesus declares that upon his return, He will give to the believers rewards and the unbelievers punishment. Those who are washing their robes are those who are seeking spiritual purification, representing salvation and being made righteous through faith in Christ. We must strive daily to remain faithful and obedient to Christ’s institutions. As Christ’s return gets closer, there is a greater polarization of Christ’s followers and Satan’s followers. We must read the book of Revelation, to hear its message, and be prepared for Christ’s imminent return.
2) Followers of Jesus should long for His arrival.
As believers in Christ, we should have a healthy desire for our Lord’s return. Sickness, sin, and death will be destroyed. There will come a new heaven and a new earth. God will dwell amongst His people, and at His right hand will be pleasures evermore. The scripture reminds us that, Eye have not seen, nor Ear heard, nor has it entered into the hearts of man, the things which the Lord has prepared for those that love him. We will be at peace in the presence of God, to dwell with him throughout all eternity.
