Get In Formation Fast

The concept of fasting is not new to the Christian faith. It’s a spiritual discipline that is often misinterpreted and misunderstood. Fasting is not just about abstaining from food or drink. It’s an act of devotion where we focus our thoughts on God, seek His guidance, and express our dependence on Him. It’s about seeking a closer relationship with God and understanding His word. This post is about the “Get in Formation Fast” organized by Shekinah Christian Fellowship in San Francisco. The event spans three days, from November 27 to November 29, 2023.

Day One: Monday, November 27, 2023

The first day of the fast begins with a reflection on Luke 4:31-37. It’s a time to stand against pride, rebellion, and insurrection. We pray, “Lord, we pray that you let every proud spirit stumble and fall. Break the crown of pride, rebellion, and insurrection. In the authority of Jesus Christ, we command every unclean spirit of rebellion, stubbornness, self-will, arrogance, and disobedience to depart in the name of Jesus.”

This day of fasting is accompanied by a Monday night prayer from 6 pm to 7 pm. You can participate by dialing in at (669) 900-9128 with the Meeting ID 890 4439 5148 and passcode 740143.

Day Two: Tuesday, November 28, 2023

The second day of fasting focuses on Mark 9:14-28. It’s a day to confront rogue spirits of arrogance, defiance, and disobedience. We pray, “Lord, we pray that you bind and cast out every rogue spirit of arrogance, defiance, and disobedience. By faith, we rebuke every unclean spirit hindering God’s people from speaking and receiving instruction. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Day Three: Wednesday, November 29, 2023

The third day of our fast, we are assigned to read Luke 11:14-28. It’s a day to pray for freedom from haughtiness, conceit, and division. We pray, “Lord, we pray for freedom from haughtiness, conceit, and division. We repent of all pride, asking you to expose and dispel it from hiding behind offenses or bitterness. Deliver us in your righteousness, surround us with salvation, and command your blessing to overtake us. May peace and prosperity fill our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

The day concludes with a Wednesday night prayer from 7 pm to 8 pm at The Center, located at 6220 3rd Street, San Francisco, CA 94124.

As you participate in this fast, may you find spiritual renewal and a closer relationship with God.
