God gives believers a desire to become more by reading scripture and listening to teaching that forms the presence of Christ within. The authority of self and society must not subvert the authority of scripture. When we appreciate how effective the word of God is we prepare our homes to receive the presence of God, we submit to God’s truth, and we develop a living response to the Word of the Lord. Scripture: 1 Chronicles 15:1-15 (ESV)
Point #1: Prepare our homes to receive the presence of God. Verse 15:1 David built houses for himself in the city of David. And he prepared a place for the ark of God and pitched a tent for it.
Point #2: Sincerity in heart can never replace submission to God’s truth. Verse 15:13 Because you did not carry it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not seek him according to the rule.”
Point #3: Develop a living response to the living Word. Verse 15:15 And the Levites carried the ark of God on their shoulders with the poles, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the Lord.
