New Bible Study Series Begins Tonight: Personal Preparation for Worship

Forming Hearts That Are Ready for the Presence of God

Tonight, we begin a brand new Bible study series at Shekinah Christian Fellowship and we believe this journey is going to deeply shape the way we approach worship, community, and the presence of God.

Join us tonight at 7pm on:

As believers, worship is not something we simply attend. Worship is something we prepare for.

Throughout Scripture, the people of God prepared themselves before encountering the presence of God through prayer, consecration, reflection, repentance, reconciliation, thanksgiving, and surrender. Worship was never meant to be approached casually or mechanically. It is a sacred encounter with the living God.

Our new Bible study series, Personal Preparation for Worship, explores the spiritual practices that prepare the heart for worship and help believers move from passive attendance to intentional participation in the life of God and the gathered church.

This series builds upon our previous Practices of Worship study, where we walked through the elements of our communal worship service from the call to worship to the benediction. Now, we are turning our attention inward to the formation of the worshiper.

Together, we will examine how personal spiritual preparation shapes our ability to:

  • Hear from God
  • Respond to God
  • Love one another well
  • Participate more fully in the communal worship experience
  • Grow in attentiveness to the Holy Spirit

Preparing beforehand for worship is essential to transition from daily distractions into a focused, intentional encounter with God. It transforms worship from a routine activity into a meaningful, heart-centered experience that prioritizes God and increases our receptivity to His voice and presence.

Worship begins before the service starts.

Each lesson in this series will focus on a spiritual posture and practice that helps cultivate deeper intimacy with Christ and healthier participation within the body of Christ.

Series Objectives
